Alamak! The FT rang at 4.30 am Sri Lanka time. It was the longest FT and Hannah's most interactive. Roused out is sleep but it was the best interruption!

Off to the cultural triangle

Today is travel day. Slept too late and did not see sunrise. Akamak. Jumped out bed at 6 am to wait to FT dear Hannah. Then discovered it was 8.30 Perth time! So went for brekky. Akamak! This morning got hot food. Another scam- yesterday got short
Changed for brekky. Wah.. After 0.25 rate cut, A$ has dropped to 1.26, the lowest for the last quarter! Got money better change... But wen ti is no

Crabby Mission accomplished

Morning slept until all haywire due to time change.
Explored outside the hotel shops and nothing interest. Mybakuteh was smart to bring
Her hat along as it was blazing hot. Went to shop and bought an adapter plug. Alamak - give 2000 rupee note and say too big. Then took a tuk tuk to Ngembo town. Hotel says 500 rupees but when we asked the first tuk tuk, his opening price was 200. So suspect hotel staff was in cahoots with these drivers. Got scam phobia lah. Alamak - better not go town as it is like Pnom Phem - full of traffic and disorganised. Tuk tuk man says take us to shopping centre. When reach there NO shopping centre leh. Man says this is the centre of town - all the shops are small ones on the road. He says he will come back for us in two hours. heng ah - we do no no the hotel address and think the name is Don's (gone) hotel - actually Don Beach hotel we found out later. Blazing hot and no aircon. All shops are jewellers or selling Sari. Cannot see one shop selling food... I mean crabs. Perspire and walk on. Then the indianboyfriend buy sunnies as blazing hot and blinding. Found a shop and ordered curry fish and rice. Like fish head curry in Little India except tiny fish in small small bowls. Many many bowls with all kinds of vegetables. The chef came to check on us a few times because we think he never had Chinese customers. Cannot show pic as cannot download from mobile. Lunch was very good and cheep. Akamat sweat pouring down mybakuteh hair and when she take off hair like she just wash hair. So went to standard chartered bank to enjoy aircon - got English paper to read also. Officer asked Can I help you so we straight face say " waiting for friend" - dare not sat tuk tuk friend or Kena chase out. Reach hotel, the indianboyfriend jumped into pool with new swimming trunks from town. Swimming trunk like crabs here, all very small. xXXL still too small for the indianboyfriend's potbelly. After swim, all went Kooning... That's what a holiday should be.
At 5 pm it was sun set watching. It was indeed a splendid scene. Then it was an early dinner. But hotel didn't to serve until 7.30 pm. So went across the road. Got any crab? The indianboyfriend asked. Got, got, and he went into the kitchen and grabbed a king size one - this one had immigration problems - did not go to Singapore. Alamak! Can bargain on price. Finally deal was made and it was an heavenly meal to end a perfect lazy day. The indianboyfriend is armed for tomorrow- swimming trunks, sunnies and a hat! Waiting for the Sunset

Hmm... Lazing on the deck chair waiting for sunset and ... Dinner. End of Day One... Nothing done but guess that's what holidays are...

Thank God for Wifi! Can talk to Kaledoscop3 and Sarge Wen in the morning and see dear Hannah video. But missed FT with Chubbers as did not ask for password last night.
This is surely a holiday - lazing in bed and surfing! Got to get swimming trunks before eating crab.

Seri Lanka

Ha! ha! The travel agent showed up last night with a gigantic sign board! Nice old man with nice new car. Alamak! airport exchange rate better than Yishun by 8 rupees per dollar.But woke up with first scam. Itinerary says your of Ngembo but guide says he not coming today! Hotel very big but not well maintained. Got pool and opens to beach. Alamak! Never bring swimming trunks! Hotel got free slow Internet but missed face time with dear Hannah. Looks like time flies here .. What I mean is every time you eat, there are kamikaze flies. Objective today - Seri Lanka crab... Hope they will not say the big ones went to Singapore. Looks like a good slow and easy holiday. We are 2 1/2 hours ahead- nearer to Dubai time.

End of the Paper Chase

We finally found the place where they sell paper prata in Yishun in the morning. The presentation is overwhelming for sure. But they add sugar to make it stiff so there is a sweetness that does not go well with the curry.

Meanwhile Sarge Wen has been courting a young girl at Langford. Looks like his charm has won her over. First he seranades.

Then win her over by carrying her.

Low and behold and now she cannot bear to leave him.

For the indianboyfriend, today is last day for school. And after this is project time plus oral exam... That's why must take break and go Sri Lanka tomorrow. Got the mossie patch all ready. Heard inefficiency stories about the tour people there. Ha! ha! Hope the agent shows up at the airport.

Can you see dear Hannah's second tooth. Now it is too tooth.
