More about Cruisiing

Happy Birthday Nikki! You are now a Big Lady for sure!

Ha!Ha! This happy picture of Hannah certainly shows here more rounded features; Looks like she has been growing fast!
After five days of caesar's salad, escargot, antipasti etc, it was straight to Ang Mo Kio for No 4 Mee. We were early and there was not much queue.
Back to Cruising! Alamak. Saw over the news that a Cruise ship in Italy sank killing 8 people! We were just talking to as crew if there were any cruise mishaps during the recent times. This ship carries about 1600 people and is about the size of Legend of the Sea. The report said it was like the Titanic - no expect it to sink! Better not go for any more cruise!
This is a video of the last evening dinner where the waiters and waitresses went on stage and sang Yue liang tie biao wo de xin!
This is the fine dining area in Romeo and Juliet where we ate most of the time. Our table was 130. Set for eight people but there was only four.
Another day at the western dining area. Alamak! every day eat western food bay tahan.
And this is what we ate. Jaws became very painful. This was medium rare but turned out to be too bloody so switched to well done later.

And this is what we did after eating. Mybakuteh managed to borrow a Manbooker prize book from the library but it turned out to be rather uninteresting.
Well today is the Lord's Day and it is off to church and then to Nikki's Birthday Party!
Continue to have a good weekend!

Plain Cruising

Wah, you go cruise so many days never post my cute pics over your blog, Gong2! How can like that?  Even Tabitha  is twitching all over!
Alamak, the Royal Carribean cruise not so atas as they say one.  And the indianboyfriend's sore thumb is the Wi Fi. Imagine it is .65 US cents per minute or $36 per hour. We were told it was very slow too!
But got no internet but luckily brought Harikami's book 3 of 1Q84 there. Kindle is really marvellous - so light and easy to carry. Can check meaning of words immediately and no need to earmark the your book - you just return where you have left off.
This is the desperado trying to take a self portrait off the balcony. Brought a tie but alamak, the Captain no sound or no picture so have to eat humbly in one corner.
Here is the spacious deck. But the facilities are rather plain and no superior to Star Cruise. The swimming pool is really tiny and help confirm no use having a tiny pool at any time.
This is where we spent half of our time in this room which is quite comfortable. The ship is as solid as a rock. It is jia ba koon, koon ba jia routine. The Romeo and Juliet restaurant was pretty good as it is table served and you can order as many helpings as you want... eg two starters, two deserts etc that is if you can eat so much. Room service is FREE during the day!
We were also saved by our Ipad... even no internet but can play games. As veteran cruisers we are now very smart- Check in and straight away went for buffet lunch!
Hmm.. eat until peng for sure! We were also saved by the Casino.. actually the Casino save the ship... From Phuket to Singapore, it is practically opened all night! Lucky got many slots at 1 ct.
But all we can say is that it is relaxing. We went for a game show and alamak no one turn up but us and they have to cancel the show!
Think the indianboyfriend have put on a few kilos!
More pictures the following day!
Chinese New year reunion in Perth has been set on 30 Jan I believe. Good young Xiany has offered her brand new house for the auspicious occasion! Well the Singapore Dinner is on Monday for the Kongs and Saturday for the Cheoks!
It's Hannah's red letter day.. actually red ang pow occasion as she will ne celebrating her FIRST Kong Hee Fatt Chai in the Dragon year!
Meanwhile, we qietly slurped up another durian before we went to bed.
Have a great weekend!

One week of Cruise!

Ha!Ha!Today is the beginning of our Carribean Cruise to Phuket! Of course cannot beat some one as it is only our second cruise. Better bring a tie in case get invited to Captain's table again!!! This time more prepared as managed to purchase Murakami Book 3 from Amazon. Now Kindle got new cover and new book! At least this time the reading will be light unlike the hard cover copy of the Book 1 & 2. Wonder there will be more cats in Book 3!
Forgot to mention in previous blog that the Christmas pressie bag went to Bangkok too! Maybe it has also gone to Melbourne yesterday for a week! And the Christmas pressie socks!!! Now that they have suffered the city's pollution, guess they will survive anyway!
Strange things are happening at Words with Friends. The Sifu Sarge Wen AC actually resigned in the last game with formidable mybakuteh! And Lta ]ennoying AC is playing in the wee hours of the morning!!!! Looks the new Queen is the undisputable mybakuteh! If you do not believe open a game with her ( the game name is the indianboyfriend!). She will have all the time to play with you on board ie if there is wifi!If there isn't, you will only read this blog on Saturday!
Have a great week ahead!

O-Gayle-R Twist

It was Galye's Day yesterday for sure, Never saw her so happy and confident! She even played with the indianboyfriend AC.
Went to the famous Teo Chew miay at Simon Road and believe it or not Gayle asked for more! Actually jia chuo!

And when she is full, we asked her how much she ate! And here is her confident answer!

And because Gayle ate two bowls, the rest of us have to be contented with one. Verdict - value tasty meal in air con comfort! A 8 for sure!

Monday was also a day for precious memories of the dearly departed.
Look at the nice "garden" Poh Choo has tended.
With a new year, some redecoration has to be done. So Poh Choo brought some new material and with the help of Patrick this is the outcome!

And the day started with a family brekky at Chong Pang!
It was a busy morning for sure.
Today is Sunday and time to worship and praise the Lord for his blessings.
Finally got a best deal from the Chong Pang night market last night. A beautiful cover for the Kindle... Ha!Ha! it is actually a Galaxy cover which fits perfectly but a few snips are needed where the buttons are blocked!
Continue to have a great weekend!

No 4 will be always No 1!

Went to collect passport with mybakuteh and alamak, the service is unbelievable. Took 3 minutes to apply for renewal on-line and then next two days got card to go and collect. Then also got email for appointment. So made appointment and wow! we only need to wait for less than 5 minutes! A far cry from the queueswe suffered at Joo Chiat. Maybe the permanent sec should be the SMRT CEO now she has resigned.
Then Halt Chor says go to the famous Tai Seng bak cho mee at Crawford lane near immigration centre at block 466 and eat the best bak cho mee. My heart shudder -  will No 4 be dethroned. Went there and the queue is worse than Joo Heng. The man in front ordered 8 bowls! Then asked if want 4, 5 or 6 dollars. Got two packets at $4 and they even tak bao soup. Die die, surely Number 4's glory has come to an end. Then went home an d heat up and eat... Verdict... still lose No 4. If No 4 is rated 9, this one is probably a 7.
A timely visit from Kin and Lta ennoying D on an early morning before they return to Perth. They liked the bak cho mee with the bouncy fish ball Sarge Wen AC talked about!
Be careful of this lovable Singapore Ah Long... When she is not happy, she poo to suffocate. If she is very very angry, she poo and pee consecutively!
Here is dear Hannah with Violet.... don't know if Violet is Tabitha Tiwchwich's che che? Ha!Ha! This one she cannot suck her toes for sure!!!
Meanwhile Halt Chor got all excited when she read over the swimming pool at Simmonds parade. So she bought an airticket to fly over to try it!!!
This morning is brekky get together at Chong Pang. Poh Choo and Hin Weng will be joining us for the place with a thousand tastes.
Alamak yesterday went to Chong Pang and the man was selling 50cts durian. Then there was $1 and $2. Feeling like a high roller, we opted for the most expensive - $2 each but have little faith in the contents. Last night proved us wrong. Flesh yellow, yellow, creamy and flat seed! You guess what we plan to do this morning!
Today is Saturday and it will be a slow weekend again until  Monday when mybakuteh and the indianboyfriend will embark on their first Carribean five day cruise to Phuket ( Thailand again!)
Enjoy the Day!

Gong Gong is finally Beaten!

Ha!Ha! They kept saying Gong Gong looks like Chubbers ... the baldy head. But now there is a Winner... Uncle Ho Tian... Chubbers got more hair than him! So Gong Gong is not so baldy after all!
New Year Day brings precious memories of the dearly departed as we visited their graves.

The flowery bush at MaMa's grave is blossoming bountifully which is a good omen.
Similarly the creepers are doing well in Gong Gong's grave.
At Ah Hia's grave, all is tidy and neat.
William was kind enough to lend us his Nissan to make the grave visit. We had brekky with him at Hougang at the famous Bak Cho Mee. You cannot believe it. There are three stalls side by side and the first and last has snakey Qs but the second one has NO buyers. Ni shuo qi Kuai bu qi Kuai!
Also Sarge Wen and Angela left this evening for Perth. They will have no problems sleeping through the flight as they partied till 5.30 am this morning.
Happy New Year again!

Happy New Year for 2012, friends and love ones! Was anyone of you one of the 10 WA winners of $1m for Lotto? There were 32 winners in Aussieland!
Ha!Ha! If not Toto is $3m next draw!
And here is the greeting from the Bangkok Survivor - dear Hannah! Such a happy face must can only bring in the year.
The last No 4 before the year is over.
And the wait did not deter us!
Today we are going to pay respects to our parents and elder brother at Chua Cho Kang. It is also the day Sarge Wen and Angela will return to Perth!
