No 1 Hit Movie at Mayflower!

Ha!Ha! Everyone's back to work but it is still Chinese New year! Managed to go to the library ( and met Halt Chor there )  and tap on the free broadband and uploaded all the videos. Here comes the Academy Award Winner, Attack by Dinosaur, acting Kaledoscop3 Portman!!!!! Eton has repeatedly requested for a rerun and it should be down loaded and burned into a CD for replays!!! Ha! Ha!

We had Ji Ku an Ah Leng come to visit us yesterday and heard the good news that Ku Paw is in remarkably good health at 88. We were also horrified that 68 homes at Roleystone and Kemscott were destroyed in the terrible fire.Mybakuteh is now recovering from the bad cough and should be ready travel on Thursday. No more bus as we weighed our luggage and it came to 37 kilo. 20 for the samsonite including the 6 kg water mattress, 11 kg for the guitar and case and six kilo for a side bag. That does not include the new year cookies and the BungaSolo Jam tarts from Northpoint ( we are travelling budget terminal).

The weather was good yesterday but Weather Man says rain today. This morning we are heading to AMK to fix Sarge Wen's shoes and get the taste of No. 4 mee!! Ha!Ha! Hope it opens today!!!

The Lord's Day

Ha!Ha! Went to Church yesterday on the Lord's Day and it was a combined English and Chinese Service. This is the first time the indianboyfriend sat under a main Chinese preacher followed  by English translation. And it was also communion Sunday. At the end of the service everyone got two blessed Chinese oranges from the church leaders!

Just found out our trip back next week has 40 kg of luggage. So we went to search for Sarge Wen's water mattress. And Mybakuteh gingerly went to the right place and got one. But there was no large one. This one fits the body but it is heavy... 6 kg! It is really cool when you wrap it around you.

Sunday was a quiet Day and we had a nice call from Kaledoscop3 telling us excitedly about her customs inspection. Mybakuteh is nursing a bad cough now. We were horrified to see the Perth fires over TV. Kelmscott is pretty near to Gosnell and Westfield in town. The other area in the north east Baskerville is north of the Great Eastern Highway. Also we were saddened by the floods in Melbourne.

Today is back to work for most of us!

Chu Si celebrations

Ha!Ha! The celebrations continue on the fourth day and our favourite Ta Mee Stall is still on vacation!

And Chinese New year is about filial piety. After observing mybakuteh scraping the carrots for the Lor Hei xin guo, Kaledoscop3 went out and bought a scraper. So Sunday's night lor hei was a bumper crop as more was scrapped with ease. Watch the demonstation clip!

The grand artist is still at designing the Rabbit which will be perfected in Perth. The Mastrae hit fame last year when he designed the Tiger!

And looked who came for a visit in the afternoon!

Why we would have sworn it was Gabooven himself!

In the night it was another grand dinner with lots of food. Justin made his debut with his special omlette. Ha!Ha! The best is still the Keropa tit bits... the indianboyfriend quietly munched three large pieces away! Somehow the Rochere chocolates delude him!

And where there are food, they are people.

And the regular set-up artiste is at work again preparing the lor hei!

And after all the event, the kiddies decided to give a new year greeting presentation. It was also caught on video but cannot upload now.

The night ended with another act of kindness as Beng Khoon volunteered to drive us back to Yishun. No hopping over three train stations are waiting endlessly for a cab!

and passed customers with the jam tarts, doughtnuts and ginger! Her key job now is to recover the garden plants hit by the lack of water over the last two weeks!

Chu er celebratins

Ha!Ha! IT was the second day of the New Rabbit Year!

Never leave the city without Fish Head curry at Little India. So we went to the overcrowded Banana Leaf and had to get the waiters' intention many times for the leaf, the rice, the papadam.

And the lime juice of course. Found out they have an orange version - mango?

Here we are tucking it in. Despite being overcrowded the table server was very nice and pleasant. Imagine they empoy China nationals to clear the table! Sino-Indo relationship?

Pity Lta Ennoying was not here and one delicious eye went to waste!

It was dinner at Pok Choo's place last night and the Master designer went to work again with the rabbit lor hei.

But his feat was more than matched by Sian who surprised everyone with her Dinaosaur Lemon cheese cake. Very jiane  one.

And then there was the tomato rabbits crafted by Poh Choo. In fact if you looked around,

there were rabbits everywhere in the house as Pok Choo is a rabbit.

Pei Seh... we thought it was 7 pm when it was actually 6 pm. So most of the people have eaten but there were still lots of food. And good soup and nice ice-cream!

Then the lor hei when everyone wants to strike lottery.

In fact there was a festive noisy mood as the house was packed with people and screaming children.

The indianboyfriend very pasei... lost his handphone while seating in one corner. Althoug Hin Wen and William helped to call the number, the tone was busy!! Then it was finally found in Elizabeth's handbag... it dropped into it. At first thought it dropped into Nikki's handbag and she was annoyed when the indianboyfriend tried to check it. At last, finally uploaded the video successfully. This is the lor hei part

This is the T-Rex competition! The winner was declared by Boy after he measured Gabriel's mouth width and length!

Ha! Ha! The night ended with a pleaseant surprise. While waiting for a taxi, a nice Latio pulled up and offered us a lift all the way home. Ha!Ha! The couple is none other than Uncle Beng Khoon and Siew Mui in their year old car. It was very nice of them to go out of the way especially it was almost impossible to get a taxi. They would not drop us halfway at the Yio Chu Kang MRT even when we insisted.

Well, the celebrations are not over. Tonight is William's house! Hmm taking a MRT would be a challenge!

The weather has held out and it is sunny again to today. The devestation in Queensland is appalling but thanks to the Lord, there was no loss of life. Keep on hopping for the New Year!

Ren is leaving this evening at 6 pm for Perth after a two week stay over here!

Chu Yi celebrations

Ha!Ha! First things first.. Tradtion. Offering Tea as a gesture of filial piety and also a way to get the ang pow fast!

Then more filial piety as we headed to All Siants Church to visit Grandparents. We must appluaqd ourselves for taking bus all the way.

Our picks are the Love letters and jam tarts. Specialities are the arrowroot and black groundnuts...Washed down with coffee with Henry's new coffee machine.

The only  one who seems a little upset over the Rabbit year is Waggy. The poor dog was aged considerably and has some skin problems.

And the last visit to Kate's place. While debating on which bus to take from Henry's place, am empty taxi zoomed past and solved our problem. We amused ourselves testing our blood pressure one the OMRON machine which Kate bought. Thanks to the good Lord that Kate is no longer under medication. The good news is we heard that Kelvin's big Day may be approaching.

Ha! Ha! Spend the afternoon lugging this guitar case from Ubi on the Train. Daleth was very kind and helpful and brought it to theEunos MRT. She even offered to drive the indianboyfriend back home seeing the size of the case. But MRT every good - no one even blinked an eye on the indianboyfriend. We weighed the case and guitar which fit nicely into it. 12 Kilo. The $64 question is whether Kaledoscop3 has the luggage left for it! Tonight is diiner at Poh Choo's place. It's weekend today but it started yesterday for us. The Lord has blessed us with a clear sunny day yesterday. Let's hope it continue today as the pool is OPENED!!!

It's the Rabbit Year!

Ha!Ha! Filial Son called from Perth to greet New year early in morning and woke us from our slumber! The rabbit is in. Look at the yu sheng last night, made by mybakuteh abd decorated by the indianboyfriend and refined by Kaledoscop3;

And this is how it turned out at Henry's house.

Everything went and the plate is completely consumed after a few minutes.

And decorations are up for the New Year. Look at the self-made lunar new year flowers at the cosy corner!
It was a also a night of Dinasaurs and both Eton and Joab were engrossed in playing them and drew in Kaledoscop3.

There was also the new year fish which were not pungent only for this season and they are laden with roe!

All in all it was good family reunion as everyone came together and caught up with one another. Mr Teo visited Poh Cho with a small New Year pressie!

Nlothing's changed. There is the kiddies table which had some adult invasion. Justin and Sian were back to enjoy although  we missed Sian's famous pastries!

Ha!Ha! slightly higher than Sian's lemon cheese cake in Perth! Everyone tucked in heartily.

And it rained after we were entertained bhy the Ip Man at the protest of Eton who wanted to see the crocodiles show. WE had the gopod fortune of Boy who sent us to the MRT in his large spacious nissan murano! Welcome the Rabbit year!

Best Bakuteh Teh in Town

Here we are at Founder's Bak Kuteh Teh  at Balestier for the spicy soup. Funny thing is that there is  a sign at the door that says open eveyday except Tuesday and yesterday was Tuesday! Anyway the food was promptly laid up on the table and it was chow time again.

Kaledsocop3 says that it was chunkiest meat portion given and service ws good. They came around and replenish the soup twice! And free flow of chillies.

This is the killer soup mybakuteh had. delicious entrails!

And of course the other side dishes like the kee and chai buay. It was a nice meal but wwe wondered why the owner did not as us to be photograpged for the wall pictures. Thenn it was back home by public transport. Rather easy although it was packed. In Singapore the weather gavbe some reprieved and it was clear skies for most the day. The Weather man says that the Chinese new year will not be so wet after all.
Tonight is another reunion as it is New year's Eve. The shut down of Singapore to celebrate is about to begin. No food shop will be opened for lunch today!

Ha!Ha! What is this? A mitshibushi ASX we spotted at Yishun. This basic model costs $16800 in Singapore. The now accredited master Negotiator Sarge Wen did a fantastic job in getting a real deal in Perth. Wonder if this will result in more secret disguised visits to Uncle B or seeing an Aspire speeding back in the evening to prepare dinner on time!!!Whatever it is, the outcome would not be the same if our THE Master Negotiator Ah Lex has not helped and demonstrated his skills for us to learn!

Let hope the weather will brace up for Singapore and the good Lord will protect and bless Queensland in view of the impending rains. Today is another great day and last day of the Tiger year. Ha!ha! Volkswagen says we should usher in the Rabbit - their Rabbit car!
