Going Bananas for Bread...

Ha!Ha! Mybakuteh bought a large bunch of ripened bananas a few days ago to make her signature banana cake. But the indianboyfriend ate about one third of the bananas before they went into the oven. Look at the results! Less or no banana and less sugar????  Must have banana or cannot call banana bread. The electricity bills hit a high of $89  last month but low compared to the tripling of Utility bills in Perth! Local news. Dr Balaji, Senior Minister of State passed away at 55 but there will not be any by election. Mentor Minister Lee Kuan Yew had a fall and is now hospitalised for chest infection. Also a Mr Koh from Singapore Land Authority has embezzled 12 m and is finally caught. He has been living a lavish life style including buying a 1.2m Lamborhgini! Who says there is no corruption in Singapore. Recently a SPH senior executive was also exposed for corrupt practices. Overseas news.. The Dehli games are going on and they now even find a cobra in the games village!!!
Today is Thursday and Sarge Wen's belated party is coming in the weekend! A well deserved one expecially after a taxing exam!
Latest news is that June is heading down to Perth and Margaret River on 8 Nov for one week! Well Spring time and it's the wild flower season! Enjoy!

Scooby Scooby Doop!

Ha!Ha! The indianboyfriend went for his annual health check and was told to go and do a colonyscopy. Was told that the scopy is quite frightening and there is even a risk of death if general anesthesia is used! According to Lee who has recently gone for one, the two days before the test is most trying. They make you drink yuckky medicine for you to rush to the loo and pang sia all the time to clean up your passageway. You are also not allowed to drive after the test as they administer drowsy drugs. Think they do not use general anaesthesia any more. The only good thing about this scopy is you may get one day's leave!!!!
It's all over for Sarge Wen. The examies are over and he had done a credible job. Now it's time for belated birthday celebrations! Hmm...another one of his famous steamboat????

Ha!Ha! Went ot Chong Pang last weekend and ate from this high-tech noodles shop - their fish cake is broad and thin. They use a touch screen to monitor the orders... to track sales and plan for the provisions. Hmm. must have a son or daughter in polytechnic!!!It even has a printer to print out orders. The Noodles? Well so so only...
Today is Wednesday and yesterday the indianboyfriend did it again. Went to the pool and found he did not pack his swimming gear. Think this must be about the fifth time!!! To solve this, he even got two googles and two trunks but what is the use when both of them are hanging at home to dry...
Looks like Kaledoscop3 is all set for the Malaysian holidays next January. All flights and rooms are booked. The Air Asia fares are incredible low and so is the meals on board - $3 for nasi brani... Understand they give you a cup of water too!

Dengue warnings are all UP!

Ha!Ha! The Dengue posters are up at block 759. Three people were affected since Sept 21... Ha!Ha! Mybakuteh was bitten by mossies at Safra Yishun on Sunday and do not know if the mossies at block 759 would fly so far!

Last night was F1 night. The excitement was one of the car burning after an accident. Other than that it was zoom, zoom, zoom, scream, scream scream. Image a crowd of 82K and a viewership of 500 million!

Ha!Ha! What is this? Why it is the cheapest hair cut in Singapore. $5 only. I asked the "stylist" if this is the cheapest shop in town and she says they also have 3.50 pricing!!!! Wonder if that was for senior citizens! It looks like the family have been there - Lta Ennoying and Sarge Wen. Only Kaledoscop3 needs to be persuaded!
Local news.. gruesome death of Father and Son in hotel - Corpthone hotel in Singapore. The son was found dead in hotel but the father jumped off his flat at home. Police are investigation.
It was water melon night when we got a large red one at NTUC. And of course in the morning it was pang sia session for all!
Tomorrow is Sarge Wen's big challenge - do pray for him!
As for Monday, it's the Queen's Birthday today so a long holiday for all. For those in Singapore, make Monday a great day!

Unwelcome Visitor at Yishun

Mr Dangi visited block 759 recently causing the environ people to come and make spot check. Of course we passed the check but are pretty worried as there were 4 cases of Dengue in the block. Must not go downstairs and walk walk any more. When walking downstairs but walk, jump, shake in sequence to chase the Mossies away!
World news.. The Commonwealth games is now being threatened as Atheletes are pulling out. Garmen havn't decided yet. In Perth Princess Margaret Hospital has one case of apparently improper treatment that caused a toddler with high fever to die. Local news.. COE has dropped but is still at a whopping $30K.
It was mooncake night last night at Henry Cheok's place but there was not enough children turn up for the lantern carrying.
Today is Thursdays and the week flies. Sarge Wen is studying hard at home and perhaps waiting for his big day tomorrow. Ha! Ha! Have a great day!

Ha!Ha! Tonite is Mid Autumn Festival leh.  There are many stories about Chang er and Houyi the archer. One is that Houyi is immortal and fell in love with the palace lady Chang er. Because of this they were banished to earth to live a live of mortals. Then one day the earth was burning up by the ten suns and the Emperor asked Houyi the Archer to shoot them down. And when he did he gave him the pill of immortality. Houyi hid the pill at home and one day his wife saw it and swallowed it. She became immortal and flew to the moon. But she spit out half of the pill so she could not go back to earth. Houyi commanded the hare in the moon to make a herb pill for Chang er. This is why till today you can see the image of the hare on the moon pounding for the herb. And this is why when you play slot machine, the bonus is Houyi shooting the ten suns!!! Ha!Ha!

Celebration tonight at Henry Cheok place for all to shang ye and carry lanterns. Hmm wonder if there is celebration too in Perth!

Today is Wednesday and mid week! And Mybakuteh and the Cheok gang returned last night on a delayed flight. No exercise today as too tired and the hands are over exercised too!

10 metres to ERP

Ko tam poh toe mian liu! Just imagine being at the traffic crawl on CTE and you are 10 metres from the ERP at early 7 am. And then the lights came on at 7 am. And ping, there goes your deduction! If life is so chien, then Mr Teo would have visited big time! Ha!Ha!
Local news. Garmen pay elderly Medisave cash and mybakuteh is one of the beneficiary. So good one got money to take.

Better not laugh at people. Remember when William's Sat flight was delayed,
the indianboyfriend laughed and then his return flight kena delayed. Then he told William who must have the last laugh! But no man, now his return flight today has been retimed ( popular word for Jetstar)and they will be four hours late. Cannot play play one. Cannot laugh. That is why the indianboyfriend is feeling very sad for them and no smiling at all- just in case the next he travelled kena retimed again....But Jetstar very bad one. They retimed to combined the 6.20 pm and 9.15 flight together. Save money at expense of loyal customers.
Today is Tuesday and it is back to Singapore for all the Cheoks. Guess they come back lighter in their wallets!
But the important thing is to have family fun!

Better not Laugh at people

These are the mountain climbers over the last week having  a badly needed lunch. Funny thing was the cashier asks for ICs when we asked for 50% Senior citizen's discount. William showed and passed, Doris showed and had to pay full and when it came to Hin Weng, the girl said, "No need to see"! Hmm it pays not to dye your hair. Anyway, the second mountain climbeing flew in on Sat morning and the flight was delayed by 3 hours. And the indianboyfriend should not have laughed at people. When he went to the airport last evening, his flighted kena delayed also by 3 hours and got home at midnight! Laugh at people should kena ownself one.

Local news.. the F1 is this Sunday and the indianboyfriend have no clue on who Lewis, Hamilton and Buttons are...Just zoom, zoom, zoom and that is all. Oh yes got F1 hot Singtel girls too so not so bad lah.

Overseas news, there is a sex attack at Mosman on a babysitter who opened the door for the predator. She was let tight up after the event.  In Perth second patient does after discharge from hospital and an investigation is called. In indian the terrorist attack on tourist cast a dark cloud over the Commonwealth games...

Well it is chai pun today again as mybakuteh is up mountain climbing. This Wed is also Mooncake festival night and something is planned in Henry Cheok's place. Wonder if the Perth people are planning ot "Shang Yue" and read Tang zhi.... Ha!Ha! More of watching western movies then.

Fours Days in a Streak!

Ha!Ha! Today is June Kong actual Birthday. Have a great Day, June!
Four Days is a streak. Have tried to change bowel habits to first thing after waking up. And it worked for Monday to Thursday. But this morning the spell broke. Maybe it was the dinner last night. But when reached office, it happened. So can say 5 Days in a Streak! Ha!Ha! Professor Lee Lee says no problems - just drink a glass of warm water and it will all happen!!!
Local news. Looks like garmen spent $380 m on YOG - three times the budget! Garmen will allowing R21 movies to be shown in the heartland for the retirees??? Ah Peks. At SPH a senior executive, Peter Khoo was sacked because he stole vouchers from the company!!!! Hmm in a moment of weakness...
The Cheoks are all geared for moutain climbing this weekend with each party arriving at different times. The indianboyfriend is well equipped with climbing pants - the cargo type that can put passport, mineral water, chips and sandwiches to chop the machines. Ha!Ha!
Today is Friday and it is Fruit Day for the indianboyfriend. Company got new policy to give Fruits every Friday... Wonder if they will ever give a watermelon each!

Prelude to the Big Day

Ha!Ha! This is the trailer for the next big event of the month... no, no, it is not the mountain climbing this weekend but Sarge Wen's bday. This was taken in 2007 and the numbers have flipped up for sure...

Local news... the overspending of the YOG has drawn some flak from netizens and VB has lost some favour for sure. Wonder if garmen will come up again at the end of the month to say they overspend for F1!!! Heartland news... World resorts was taken to task for cheo-ing Singaporeans to the casino with their free bus and flyers.. garmen say market is overseas and not Singaporeans.. They say they got some casino counselling cases already. (Wonder if they are from Block 759!).

Today is alrady Thursday and happy late night shopping. Oh yes, one West Australian entered the Guiness Book of Record with the large tongue....Wonder if they have a record for the largest mouth!

Ha!Ha! It birthday time again for June Kong. The celebration dinner was held last night at Henry Kong's home and it was a poh pia night. The cake was from lana's at Bukit timah and takes really good.

Hmm is little blurry but the story is there. Locals news World resorts voluntarily withdrew its free bus services from the heartland after the garmen says they want to investigate. Also Garmen spent 3 times the budget amount for the YOG.. guess the costs all went to the fireworks!!! In Malaysia, the gristly murder of the cosmetic queen unravelled. Apparently before they were burnt and ashes desposed off, the victims had their throats slit!!! On the indianboyfriend's facebook, with the addition of June Kong, he now has 14 friends. What a stupendous increase over the last few days!

Plain WARM Water

Mybakuteh is now starting to drink plain warm water after reading what Lee Kuan Yew does. He is 87 and there must be some truth in the results of his careful lifestyle. Do not drink too much tea... So the indianboyfriend had warm water for breakfast... Wonder if she will start saying the Biblical chant each night!!!

And what is on the other side of the warm water? Crispy Creame doughnuts... Looks like the sweets will counter the effect of the warm water. Well there are not from Australia but from Malaysia... Oh yes after looking at all the mooncakes in Malaysia, the most competitive prices ones are in Singapore.. err that is in NTUC.. only $17 for four double yolk ones!!!!

Today is Tuesday and we have started using the air-con again. Last Sunday Sumiko talked about her new marriage. She hates air-con and as a result she and her new found husband are now sleeping in separate rooms!!!

Ha! Got a belated birthday greeting from Wai Ping!

Well tonight is the Zi Pek Dinner night. Guess it is a combination of Birthday and Mooncake celebrations and perhaps a chance for Lee to show her video of the Silk Route to captive audience.

Visit by Mr Teo Air Sai

Ha!Ha! A night celebration for the indianboyfriend with a candled cake? This is now the story went. The indianboyfriend was puzzled why there was no pressie presentation on the birthday morning and mybakuteh just left quietly for exercise.. Hmm... there must be somegthing big coming for the day. But no leh.. nothing until he got a email confession from mybakuteh in the afternoon. She thought the 9th was on Friday  - the mountain climbing day. Hmm signs of dementia... Anyway there was the cake waiting for the indianboyfriend and pressies of course.

Ha!Ha! Pressie Pants for mountain climnbing and gondola riding. With many many pockets to put passport, coins, bottles drinks etc...

But thanks to the good Lord for a wondderful birthday because

(1) Many people do not live past my birthday age

(2) You have three early phone calls from Perth from your Lta

Ennoying, Kaledoscop3 and Sarge Wen singing gusty but out of tune

The 9 Sep Toto draw brought some good fortune for the indianboyfriend as he got five numbers on a System 7 ticket. This is the first respectable win for the indianboyfriend and it is on his birthday some more.

Ha! Ha! Last weekend when the indianboyfriend checked into the Hotel, he asked if he could get Starwood points... the girl at the counter said "No because booking was via agent ( Unhappy). Then she greeted the indianboyfriend a belated birthday ( happy). She said she will upgrade the room for us ( happy). And he added the reason is because the indianboyfriend is so elderly that the room has a separate shower closet. ( unhappy).. .. How can say like that man!!! Met her later at the lift and she denied saying it. How can say first and then say never say!!! Anyway it was a good stay and the coach took us back within five hours!

Today is Monday. Understand this weekend the Cheok clan is going mountain climbing! Ha!Ha! Wonder is Mr Teo will be visiting soon.

Gristly murder in KL. A millionaire cosmetic queen was murdered with her three colleagues and bodied burnt and ashes thrown into the river. The suspect is a lawyer!

Well had calls from Perth early this morning with gusty happy birthday songs...Also got a sms wishing me a belated birthday!

Well had already celebrated the birthday inthe gondola ride last week but need to bao zhou by going mountain climbing tomorrow!

By the way, Mr Teo visited us last Monday but it was Teo bay song as all we got was three plus one! Ha!Ha! must try to get Teo Tua Tua to come soon.

Mybakuteh is back to exercise this morning as the human alarm clock was back to action.

Today is Thursday and the weekend starts here as tomorrow is Hari Raya.

Ti ar beh Gern, kao ah beh piew

Cho si an ni! Tian hai mei you liang, guo hai mei you han... the ERP is up! Woke up late today at 6.30 pm and mybakuteh had to skip the exercise. And when the trusty matrix passed the CTE gantry at 7.04, it went beep! And it starts at 7.00 am...Hmm...got to beat the ERP the next time.
These shoes are not meant for walking. The indianboyfriend's shoes bust on him at the swimming pool. The heel came off! Well that is for buying cheap Malaysian shoes on sale... Aiyah never mind... there is another spare set of cheap Malaysian shoes on sale at home... When will people learn???

Forgot to post the congratulatory message for Sarge Wen who passed her probation and is now a full fledged perm staff at the accounting firm! Jia You!
Today is Tuesday and weather has improved. The 9 pm Chinese serial is quite dramatic... it is about a lawyer son who disowns the mother and has been physically aggressive with her. The hatre is almost impossible to understand. Quite a relief from the last crime episode. Got a good deal of 8 oranges ( sweet) for 2.99 ( they charge you only 2.95) from Cold Storage. When the indianboyfriend got home, his oranges was dwarfed by two Monster ones mybakuteh bought from NTUC! Today is Tuesday already and it is River Monster at 10.00 pm. Now can watch as the waking time is 6.00 pm if there is no oversleeping. Have another great day!

In God we trust

When we heard of the Earth quake in NZ, we realise that is no safe place in the world. Only safe place is in God's hands. Then there are floods in Victoria, not to mention Asia. Goh Chok Tong was correct - we should not complain too much as developed nation  - crowded trains, expensive houses when our basic needs are met. Today is Monday and a short week. Friday is Hari Raya  and thursday is the Indianboyfriend's birthday! Father's Day is over on Sunday!This 62th Birthday is auspiscious and it is the start of the annuity payment and entitlement to withdraw from the SRS fund!
Mybakuteh has gone back to exercise today. This week will also see a start of a new work routine as the indianboyfriend intends to start work much later!

Ha!Ha! Today Blogger is working but no pics to post! These are old pics posted earlier and saved. The pic above shows a pic of the rocks and the second pic shows the actual rock as we cruise by. The last pic is the streets of Hanoi which offers great bites if you have the heart to sit down and eat what is cooked before you!

Local News. NS Day will receive now up to $10,500 for their contribution . The cut off date is 29 Aug for full time NS. Ha!Ha! Some will be unhappy if they fall out. New Creation Church makes Headline for have a Sunday collection of $24 million. Mybakuteh says it is not so awesome considering they have 22,000 members and all it takes is just $1000 per member!

Yishun news.. Looks like Mybakuteh has recovered as there were jars of Kaya when the indianboyfriend got home... But there is the malingering cough which hopefully will go away.

Travel Plans....Looks like we got Chinese New year all sorted out... Kaledoscop3 will be back in late Jan to celebrate both her birthday and CNY in Singapore. Looks like a great chance for a side trip to Asia! And mybakuteh and the indianboyfriend will fly to Perth immediately after the Singapore dinner to have a Perth reunion!

Well Sep is an auspicous month for the indianboyfriend cos of Father's Day and well, shy, shy, his birthday leh. It is also June' birthday, Arge Wen's Birthday and Ethan's birthday. The indianbyfriend remembered when Ethan was born in Mount Alvernia, it was raining dogs and cat and the lightning was flashing unceasingly. It was as if the heavens were making a joyous annoucement! But  the best celebration is self celebration! Theindianboyfriend is taking two days leave tomorrow and Friday to go gondola riding! Ha! Ha! With mybakuteh of course!
