Chuwa yeo!

Chuwa Yeo! Excellent! That was what the 2010 New Year's Eve dinner was! We were given a treat at Angela's home on the 31st to a Korea feast which took two days of preparation! Among the dishes is jijimee which is prepared only on special occasions of celebration. Taste like fried yong tau foo, it is slightly spicy but very tasty! See video above for a step by step explanation of the dishes on the table. Added to the Korean night was Sainny's mee siam and cup cakes! And now here is the table but where are the people?
Look again and here are all the happy people!

Here are the close ups of the authentic Korean dishes:
The indianboyfriend did not pay attention to Sarge Wen's commentary and when he ate this fish roe soup ( I tang) , he thought the fish roe were a special type of powedery sausage! And he ate too many which means one more round of jogging this evening!

This is the jijimee... which has to be painstakingly prepared. It was the highlight of the evening for most of us except mybakuteh who attacked the I tang of course.

And the pork wrap! Next to it is the sashimi salmon with the salad wrapping which is again painstakingly assembled!
The mee siam was a hit too but when it came to these beautiful cup cakes made by Sainny, everyone's tummy was full so they became today's breakfast for all!
But it not all eating on New Year's Eve. Sarge Wen did us proud by fixing the dripping taps at home. Well at least three out of four.

What was commendable was the determination - like Commonwealth bank tag line - determined to be different. When the tools were insufficient, he went to Bunnings to get some more! And when extraction of the old washer was almost impossible, he perserved and improvised the nail cutter to extract it finally! Possibly a second vocation possibility although we dared not calculate the cost of the tools.  When the indianboyfriend asked him to continue to fixed the Xmas trolley since he got the new set of screw drivers,
he nonchalantly said, Not now, I have done too much screwing today!!!! Opps. parent guidance recommended. .Suspiciously mybakuteh volunteered to go to Bunnings with Sarge Wen and the suspicions were rightly confirmed with this new flowerbed outside the dinning area!

Ha! A window with a view! Back in Singapore Uncle Lee says Singapore economy grew exceptionally at 14.7 % and 2011 is preducted as 4-6 %. Also HDB resale prices continue to rise. In Perth PM Julia toured the QLD floods and promised a relief aid of $1000 for each affected family. Also a woman fate was sealed when she was bitten by a seal while swimming in Geraldton!
Well today is the first day of 2011!
Happy New Year and the Lord truly bless and guide you everyday of this year! Trust in the Lord and walk in His Way!
